Everything about the hotel was great. The location is close to most tourist sites, the views are exceptional over the harbour, the food was spectacular. The room was spacious, quiet and spotless and the bed comfy. The pool was secluded, quiet and clean. The staff were helpful and accommodating - I arrived at 1am and there were no glitches with my check-in. Highly recommend

The rooms are spacious, and the AC works really well considering zanzibar is a hot humid place, It's at the heart of stone town, meaning you have access to everypart of stone town(market, tourist sites, beach). The staff are nice and the breakfast is really good if you make it early. Nice sunset view as well.

you can clearly see that behind this hotel there is someone who cares a lot about details... the rooms are well furnished and above all they are differently furnished from the vast majority of hotels which always offer the same old Indian style. The rooms are also comfortable... the problem is that everything is ruined if your staff bangs chairs and tables from 6.30 to 7.20 in the morning, the waitress talks on the phone in front of your door at the same time... Breakfast too, very good, but if you serve me empty croissants without jam or anything else, it's really useless! I asked if it was possible to have some jam or anything else since it had been brought to all the tables and I was told that it was finished and that I could have it the following day (i.e. when I was now at home)... regardless of the answer , they continued to serve it to the other tables where it was not even asked for and in fact left intact on the table. The pool itself is also beautiful and the water very clean, but everything around it was full of leaves, messy and without even a table or chair... just a couple of deckchairs already occupied. What about the tourist tax? I am a resident and I paid it anyway... the receptionist tried to explain to me how the government rules work, to me who am a resident and also have a hotel here in Zanzibar. There are all the conditions to be at the top, but everything is ruined by small things.

Realy LOVE this hotel. Super location, beautiful old building with great views from the rooftop restaurant. comfy big rooms , nice pool, and superfriendly en helpful staff. Would defenitely come back if I have the chance.
